The 4th week has been so busy. Luckily, we have no discussions, seat works and assignments. Also we have lots of free time yet we faced a big responsibility which is the Class Documentary Film about social issues that can be linked to media and will serves as our Performance Task as well as our summative exam in Media and Information Literacy.
On the first meeting, Ms. Sualan let us watch the 30-second promotional video to the class. After that she gave us the rubrics and the criteria of the documentary film and then left the class for us to brainstorm the plans and to choose the best topic for the documentary film to integrate that we really are an information and media literate. On the second meeting, since we have a two-period for MIL, Ms. Sualan announced to us that the whole two period are allotted for the Documentary Film making, so that we can start the film and partly finish it as soon as possible. We used the time for distributing and assigning task individually, we choose directors, actors, location managers, researcher and etc. Also we made an outline or a draft of the events/scenes of the film, we organize the sequence of all the scenes we will take, we have planned the content of our video and all the things needed to be done first before proceeding to the shooting of videos. We are so thankful that our teacher sacrificed and gave the time alloted for the discussion to the planning and making of our documentary film.
The task given to us, tests how firm STEM 3 is. The challenge of how we make use of our time, how we work as a team/class and how we deal or we handle the circumstances and challenges in the journey of making the task. It also intensifies bondings and teamwork, tests individuals patience, and it also creates sense of leadership, initiative and willingness.
